Born in 1968 in Cleveland,
Mississippi, Katherine E. Blackmon-Solis grew up in Little Rock,
Arkansas, earned a BA in Broadcast Journalism from Southern Methodist
University in Dallas, Texas in 1990, and moved to Los Angeles,
California in 1991 to work in the entertainment industry.
After working for Burt
Reynolds on the hit television show "Evening Shade,"
studying acting at the acclaimed Estelle Harmon Actors Studio,
and working as a fine-art appraiser and antique dealer, Ms. Blackmon-Solis
decided it was time to pursue her life-long ambition of becoming
an active member of the legal profession.
Ms. Blackmon-Solis
graduated in 1997 with a Juris Doctorate degree from The University
of Southern California Law School in Los Angeles. USC is consistently
ranked as one of the top 15 law schools in the country and is
known for producing ethical attorneys, judges, and academicians.
After graduation, Ms.
Blackmon-Solis moved back to Little Rock where she passed the
Arkansas Bar Exam and started her solo practice. She is an active
member of several Bar Associations, the Womens Law Association,
and president of Central Arkansas Family Law Association.
Ms. Blackmon-Solis
is certified as an attorney ad litem in Circuit Court and as parents'
counsel in Juvenile Court. Her areas of practice are:
